Aras Devirm is the current Omicron of the Order.

Early Life

The son of a Turkish aristocrat and a Lithuanian scholar, Aras (Aah-rass) Devirm had the advantage of being born to privileged parents. While primarily growing up far away from his father's homeland in Vilnius, Lithuania, he nevertheless maintained roots between the two different cultures. While touring outside of Istanbul with his parents at the age of 11, his childhood was abruptly ended as a bomb went off, his father's status as an aristocrat likely marking him as a target and victim for some perceived slight that had long been lost to history but not the many militias that had been ever present in the centuries of Middle Eastern conflicts.

Presumed dead along with his parents, Aras survived if only by sheer will and the impression such a feat made upon the band of sympathetic fighters that found him. Physically scarred as a result of the blast and ill treated wounds, Aras spent the rest of his young and teenage years with the fighters, blending his European childhood with the struggling survival of the displaced, unwanted, and feared.

His genetic compatibility was discovered on happenstance following a visit to a Consortium health care institution established in a Syrian refugee camp. Normally operating procedure with compatible refugees mandates further psychological evaluation and societal reintegration, but Aras’ notable high compatibility — 86% — coupled with a non-traditional background warranted an exception from senior leadership for immediate intake as an Initiate.

As an Initiate

An older and something of a non-traditional Initiate, Aras' training was specialized to societally reintegrate as well as enhance the skill sets he had learned as a vagabond militia member. A quick study thanks to a cultivated education in his formative years, this foundational training was further expanded to include other identified areas of expertise. Instructors had specifically noted in Aras a high level of analytical qualities to include a seemingly intuitive understanding of battlefield tactics and broad leadership strategy, further confirmed and augmented through various test scenarios and games.

Outside of this expertise, Aras' raw will and determination - sometimes at the cost of exclusion - were noted. This trait was subtly reinforced by instructors on orders of senior leadership that approved his compound compatibility exception, on the thought that only rigorous self-control could allow such an Initiate from becoming an Aberration. Following the second injection of Compound 36, Aras surpassed even the highest of expectations as made evident through his continual ability to suppress the healing factor of C36 from fully removing the physical scars he suffered as a child.

This iron will, high analytical, tactical and strategic expertise, coupled with a particular battlefield ferocity is what prompted the Consortium to select Aras in the position of Tau for the Order.

As Part of the Order

Upon his induction as Tau and receiving the final injection, Aras was immediately assigned as a part of the team to eliminate the former Omicron that had been confirmed as an Aberration and believed to be located in the Black Forest of Germany. Following the liquidation of the Aberration, Tau and a selection of other members of the lower house were tasked with investigating the lost of a shipment of Compound 36 in Ceccano, Italy. While successfully completing the mission and containing any unauthorized implementation of C36, Tau's acceptance of assistance from an unauthorized, non-secure, and possibly criminal source known only by the moniker of Burn was noted. Despite the argument against promotion by his Handler, Aras' area of mission success was not lost on other Handlers coordinating operations nor on the Sapientia as a whole, granting him advancement to the rank of Rho and eventually to Omicron.

Powers and Skills

Aras is an inducted member of the Order and has received the final injection of Compound 36 to make the abilities it grants permanent. Due to his heightened compatibility rating with Compound 36 (86%) beyond generally acceptable levels, he has been rigorously instructed - along with continually monitored - to lessen his use of the inert C36 more than the average Order member.

As a result of further experience and training, specifically coinciding with his endurance speciality, Aras has acquired the following application(s) in his use of C36:

Adaptable Muscle Density - Ability to bulk up, gaining both height and weight (dense muscle mass), through the use of a single activation of C36. Unlike others that can duplicate this effect, it no longer requires constant activation of C36 to maintain it. For scaling purposes, when activated, Aras is stronger than any baseline Agent (i.e. Agents that haven't activated additional C36) while in bulk form, but would not exceed a 'tank build' Agent (ex. Pavel Dushenko) who normally excels in strength that further activated C36.

Other Information

  • Aras' native language is Lithuanian and he is fluent in English. He can speak and read Turkish and Arabic (with a Syrian accent) at a near fluent level.
  • Unlike a majority of Order members, he lives outside of Consortium grounds in his own flat in Ostia, a municipio of Rome on the Tyrrhenian Sea.
