Aleksandr Orlov is a Handler within the Consortium.

Early Life

Aleksandr was raised under the last of the Communist ideals that had trickled down through former-Soviet Union bloodlines in post-democratized Russia. His parents were farmers and when Aleksandr excelled in school, it was made very clear and apparent to him that school and schooling was for the capitalist dogs of the West. Hard work and hard work alone was the currency in which the world toiled.

As a teenager, Aleksandr had become extremely sick with pneumonia and had to be taken to the hospital. Although his parents refused, at least initially, to go to a Consortium health care location, the local hospital was ill-equipped to deal with the infection, so he ended up at a Consortium clinic in Kansk, a town in Krasnoyarsk Kari.

After the Consortium clinic was able to bring Aleksandr back from the brink of death, his parents shifted their perspective on the Consortium, if nothing else. Aleksandr continued to do exceptionally well in school and had managed to get a scholarship to Kutafin Moscow State Law University. Due to the schools interchange agreements with universities in certain European and Asian nation as well as the United States, Aleksandr was able to obtain his undergrad degree in political science and philosophy. His post-graduate work included a law degree and, interestingly, is able to legally practice law in multiple countries, having taken the equivalent certification and accreditation exams to do so.

As a Consortium Attorney

Aleksandr had begun working with the Consortium as a contract attorney for the Russian federal government. Aleksandr had shown exceptional skill during the contract negotiation process, not just with the legal language embedded within the contract, but also the mediation between the Russian federal government and the Consortium itself. Shortly afterward, and given that he had not signed a non-compete agreement, the Consortium had invited him to interview with them.

The Consortium's legal team was equally impressed and in one of the shortest application times in the Consortium's history, Aleksandr was offered a job. He continued to negotiate contracts between the Consortium and its clients, but also practiced other types of corporate law for them, including certain aspects of litigation -- primarily with respect to intellectual property.

As a Handler

As an attorney for the Consortium, Aleksandr was able to access sensitive information as part of his research. As he had begun to learn more about the Order and what function it served, he began to look for opportunities to engage them. When an opportunity had arisen and a position opened, he applied.

Although his skill set was not a perfect match from the start, his attention to detail and ability to quickly synthesize information made him a strategic asset. Not to mention that he already knew client expectations for the work performed by the Order, which also looked favorably for him.

The first Agent he handled had risen from Psi, Rank 23, to Delta, Number 4, in just under three years. The rise in rank was unprecedented and was largely accredited to Aleksandr's ability to not only know what his charge was capable of, but also the best way to plan, organize, and detail a mission, assignment, or objective.

Since then, he has only dealt with Agents in the single-digits, until recently when he volunteered for the former Rho (current Upsilon), Pavel Dushenko. Unlike the Agents of Elise Gerhardt, Cyril Baptiste, Mercer Lord, and Aurelia Pasquale, his previous charge was killed during an Aberration hunt.

Physical Appearance

Aleksandr is a middle aged-man, late forties, of average height and build. He has dark hair but is grayish-white at his temples. He also wears a full, neatly-trimmed beard that patches of gray on either side of his chin. He tends dress in dark clothing, but is never seen without a three-piece suit. He has dark eyes and pronounced lines around his eyes and forehead, likely due to years of stress and the physical toll that takes on the body. He is also commonly seen with a pocket watch and carries a cane with him a well.

Powers and Skills

Aleksandr has no powers and was never exposed to Compound 36, but is a skilled attorney and is remarkably good at manipulating others to move forward with his end goals. In addition to his legal acumen, he's also an accomplished violinist.

Other Information

Aleksandr is fluent in Russian, English, Italian, and Mandarin. Further, he is legally able to practice law in the United States, Russia, China, and Italy.

Aleksandr turned 49 the same day that he acquired Pavel Dushenko as an agent.
