Palisade is a Defense Guard operative within the Global Security Initiative.

Early Life

The woman who would become Palisade grew up in Sydney, Australia. She came from a middle class background; her mother was a manager of a popular seafood restaurant in Botany Bay and her father was a Incremental Senior Constable, Field Operations, in the New South Wales Police Force. Although she grew up with a firm respect for law enforcement due to her father's presence, she never had any significant interest in following in her father's footsteps. On the contrary, she loved the water, loved the boats, and simply wanted to be an artist.

While most of the world quietly fell under the alliance of the Global Security Initiative, Australia included, it seemed to matter slightly less to the land down under. Australia, for all intents and purposes, was quite adept at being self-sustaining along with close relations from Micronesia, New Zealand, and the rest of Oceania. But one thing that all sovereign states had in common, outside of the GSI tax was the standardized testing. All educational institutions, public or private, were mandated for standardized testing as dictated by their code of regulations.

Recruitment

Palisade.

As Part of the Global Security Initiative

Palisade is currently deployed to the Defense Guard, however she has also spent time as part of the War Guard roster as well.

Physical Appearance

Powers and Skills

Although not an Agent of the Order, Palisade has been exposed to Compound 36 and has received the final injection to make the abilities it grants permanent.

As such, she has the normal complement of abilities granted by the compound:

- Enhanced strength
- Enhanced speed
- Enhanced stamina
- Enhanced durability
- Enhanced senses
- Enhanced healing factor (including resistance to disease)
- Enhanced agility
- Resistance to aging

Like all those exposed to the compound, she can further activate the inert Compound 36 in her body to augment the aforementioned abilities even further. There is great risk involved in doing so, as pushing beyond an acceptable limit aggravates any side-effects of the Compound and can also lead to uncontrollable rage and an inability to form rational thought, relying purely on instinct and survival. Once this occurs, there is no treatment and the individual becomes an Aberration.

In addition to her Compound 36-based skills, Palisade is an extremely accomplished martial artist and has access to an infinite number of melee weapons as defined by energy-based malleable weapon (EMW). EMWs are not standard issue, however they are far from uncommon. Practitioners must display a certain level of mastery before they can be assigned. EMWs are self-sustaining devices, however energy-based constructs can be shattered with enough force. EMWs will auto-shutdown if a threshold of resistance if exceeded to prevent destruction of the weapon itself.
