Purgatory is the classified name of an off-world prison established by the Consortium of Earth-2619 to house former Agents of the Order for crimes resulting in excommunication but not execution. Although former Agents may be tapped by the Consortium to perform tasks as part of an agreement to obtain more privileges in Purgatory, no prisoner in Purgatory may ever become a full-fledged Agent again.
