== Early Life ==
The baby that would grow up to be known as Mia was abandoned just hours after her birth, and therefore does not have any knowledge of who her birth parents are. The only thing she knows for sure is that she was born in Zurich, Switzerland. She was moved through the system for the first few years of her life, residing in the same foster home for the first few years of her life, until the couple became too ill and caring for a young and extremely active child became too much. Mia was crushed when ''Tante'' and ''Oncle'' (German for Aunt and Uncle) had to relinquish her back into the care of child services shortly before her sixth birthday. She was tested, and flagged for potential genetic compatibility with [[Compound 36]]. Before Mia could be transferred to the [[Consortium]] orphanage, she ran away.

Mia was on the streets for six years until she was caught and sent to the orphanage when she was twelve. She's a liar and a thief.

Once she was caught, she was tested again, since they couldn't find the name she'd given the Child Welfare authorities. Genetic testing matched to her original record, and she was sent to the Consortium orphanage, to be come an [[Initiate]].

The 9th Generation refers to the corresponding generation of the [[Order]] on [[Earth-2619]]. Also referred to as the ''Great Catastrophe'' by the [[Sapientia]], its existence is rarely discussed and its members are largely unknown to Agents of succeeding generations.

== The Beginning of the End ==
The Alpha of the 9th Generation learned that the [[Compound 36|Carrion Virus]] had been manufactured by the [[Consortium]]'s progenitor, BioGen Amalgamate. Not only this, but that Compound 36 was named after the 36th permutation of this virus. Recognizing that the Consortium was responsible for the largest death toll in the annals of human history, he began to gather the remaining Ranks of the Order to inform them of what he learned. It was then they had all learned the truth: The "Compatibility Test" was nothing more than a projected outcome of a human's resistance or susceptibility to the virus. If a compatibility score was too high, a candidate would likely be taken over by the Compound, which would result in becoming an Aberration prematurely. If a compatibility score was too low, it meant that the candidate's immune system would destroy the virus before it could begin rewriting DNA and ultimately provide the Compound's enhancements.

[[Jett de la Cruz]], the Consortium's Operator during that time, had attempted to warn the Sapientia of what the Alpha had learned but not before he was able to kill her in the midst of transmitting the message. Knowing that their time was limited, the Alpha informed them of their options: Follow him and avenge the deaths the Consortium had worked so diligently to cover up or remain hidden from the Consortium that would surely send Hunting Parties to destroy any rogue Agents left behind. Some followed the Alpha, others created new identities for themselves on Earth-2619 as well as on other worlds.

== The King's Republic ==
Founded by Judas Cross upon learning of the Consortium's dark history, the King's Republic serves to chip away at the Consortium and its hold over Earth-2619. Having been made aware of the existence of the [[Global Security Initiative]] while still an Agent, Judas quickly aligned the group to GSI's cause; an alliance that has made both groups stronger in the process.

It was through this alliance that GSI learned of the [[Coristanti]]'s vulnerability to the Order's Orichalcum weaponry.

Isobel Shaw Buchanan is a former battlemage on [[Earth-1834]] assigned to the [[Arcanum]] investigation. She was injured four years ago, and lost her sight. Isobel's primary skills lie in the spells she learned during her training to be a battlemage. Her secondary skill set involves alchemy.

== Personality and Appearance ==
Isobel has always been a happy child with an odd sense of humour. Even while she was recovering from her accident, tried to keep her attitude the same. Even now, she will make self-depreciating jokes about herself, and makes puns about her sight on purpose.

She inherited her family's reddish brown hair, and blue eyes. Before her blindness, she kept her hair long, priding herself in the elaborate hairstyles she could twist her hair into. Shortly after the accident, she cut her hair above her ears and has kept her hair like that ever since. With the band of scars across her eyes, she's also foregone wearing any makeup.

While she is comfortable with her scars, Isobel knows that not everyone around her will be, so she tends to wear either dark glasses or goggles that will hide her eyes and a majority of the scars or she will wear hoods that will obscure the upper part of her face. She has also adapted her wardrobe so that the clothing is simple and utilitarian. Since she strives to be as independent as possible, Isobel does not want to have to deal with elaborately designed clothing. The colours she wears also tend to run towards dark and neutral colours, so she doesn't have to worry about whether things match or not.

== Family History ==
Isobel's branch of the Clan Buchanan was of middling importance. She is the third child of five, and the second daughter.

Many members of Clan Buchanan have been members in the battle magus corps.

== Life and Career ==

=== Pre Injury ===
Growing up with three other brothers, and countless other cousins, she ended up becoming more adept with with magics that were traditionally affiliated with the male members of her family. Isobel was scouted at a young age to be recruited into the battle magus corps when she was old enough. Her family, though, was initially against it. She excelled at her studies, coming in first in all of her classes, earning her the right to unequivocally choose her continued studies herself, without having to go through the family rites. The family rites involve a secret series of tests going back generations, administered by the heads of Clan Buchanan.

Isobel excelled in the corps academy. She graduated in the top 2% of her class, earning her a commission with the 57th Lords Battalion. She fought. She killed. She defended.

Then, in a training accident with a group of students from the academy, she went blind.

Isobel doesn't remember much from the accident, or the following few days. All she knows about what happened was told to her after. She attempted to keep her spirits up, but did have times when she was in a foul mood.

She worked with trainers to learn braille, and was gifted with a raven familiar whom she named George. She learned to work with George to become more independent and to use his sight as her own.

Once she had recovered from her injury, Isobel was presented the Blue Star medal, awarded to those who made a grand sacrifice in the line of duty.

== Skillset and Casting Methods ==
Isobel uses her staff for the most of her casting when it comes to any of her battle spells. Her style when using her staff is very similar to bōjutsu. This also allows her to defend from physical attacks, as well as magical ones. For her alchemy spells, she usually needs to be in physical contact with the item, but doesn't necessarily have to verbalize the spells.

Most [[Battle Mages]] use non-verbal casting methods,instead using repeated patterns of movement. This is a strategic choice, and allows her to surprise her opponent(s) to some extent. She does, however, occasionally verbalize her casting, usually limited to simple spells and when she is unable to use her hands and/or staff.

== The Investigation of Imminent Threat ==
Invitations sent by Heinrich Stratton were answered by Isobel, [[Gwendoline Harding]], [[Kord Von Einzberg]], and [[Leon Elias Malachi]]. After a brief test of their skill and ability, Heinrich explained that they were hand-selected by the Arcanum to investigate a threat detected within the Nexus. The Nexus forms a crucial axis point between other worlds and a threat detected within it has the potential to spread across the entire Multiverse. To that end, their group was selected to investigate and report back.

Departing from Zbraslav Chateau in the Czech Republic by way of Zeppelin, the group travelled to Warsaw, Poland for their entry into the Nexus.

Parish Kent is in his late twenties, but has been part of the Order for almost ten years. He has a lean, muscular frame. He wears the standard Order uniform, which is a white/silver body-armor type uniform with gold accents on it. He has dark brown, almost black, hair that is cropped short on the sides, longer on the top, but away from his eyes. He has brown eyes with flecks of gold and amber toward the center. He has no tattoos or distinguishing physical marks or scars outside of his general build.

Parish is an inducted member of the Order and has received the final injection of Compound 36 to make the abilities it grants permanent.

Like all members of the Order, he can further activate the inert Compound 36 in his body to augment the aforementioned abilities even further. There is great risk involved in doing so, as pushing beyond an acceptable limit aggravates any side-effects of the Compound and can also lead to uncontrollable rage and an inability to form rational thought, relying purely on instinct and survival. Once this occurs, there is no treatment and the Order labels the individual an [[Aberrations|Aberration]] that is subsequently hunted and killed.

Parish is one of the best marksman within the Order, so much so in fact that [[Elise Gerhardt]] actually studied his technique and incorporated aspects of it into her training materials to increase the overall accuracy and precision of ranged weapons.

Parish has been close friends with [[Cassius Stolarz]] since they were Initiates. During their time in training they were practically inseparable.

Earth-1330 is one of the primary earths from which characters draw their collective histories.

== Background ==
Earth-1330 shares much of its history with Earth-Prime. One of the most distinguishing characteristics of Earth-1330 is the potential for genetic mutation, which can result in superhuman abilities. Technologically speaking, Earth-1330 is one of the most advanced earths in the collective multiverse. Due to the acquisition of [[Coristanti]] bio-organic technologies, [[Devlinari Industries]] has been able to reverse engineer much of the photonic, or light-based, properties that power much of the advances.

During the late 20th century, Earth-1330 saw much political upheaval due to the fight for metahuman rights. Costumed vigilantes composed of metahumans often fought for and against baseline (non-meta) humans in skirmishes that helped define the era. [[Genus]] was formed in response to this threat.

Sovereign states, such as the United States, Canada, Germany, Frances, and so forth govern their own citizens independently. == State of the Union ==
The Pack has shaped much of the recent history of Earth-1330. Several targeted attacks against Devlinari left Lightnet damaged, but not destroyed, and saw the destruction of Devlinari Tower and the near-destruction of the Devlinari Space Station (DSS). The former CEO of Devlinari Industries, [[Camden Westlake]], is comatose and in a vegetative state. Her father, [[Chaston Westlake]], has not been seen since the attack on Devlinari Tower. [[Reagan Westlake]], a clone of [[Rowan Westlake]] now serves as CEO while [[Kallie Sanford]] serves as its Senior Director of Operations. [[Dante Masters]] serves as Devlinari's Chief of Intelligence and is primarily focused on finding the remaining Pack members not currently in Genus' custody.

Genus uses [[Ellis Holland]], also known as Pattern of the Pack, and his weather manipulation abilities to quell environmental disasters across the globe. Because of this, drought conditions, globally, have been eliminated and severe weather conditions are routinely eliminated.

The Pack continues to search for Cairo Westlake and Damian Niles, both of whom have also gone underground since the failed attempt to destroy Devlinari. [[Avery Arsenault]], also known as Override, has a dimensional transport device that was acquired from [[Global Security Initiative]] operatives. [[Gavin Prescott]] has also rejoined the Pack since his abduction by GSI operatives.
